Our Staff
Wakatipu Medical Centre began in Frankton in 1996 on McBride St, a few doors along from where it is currently located. Dr Tom Milliken had an established practice in Queenstown in 1990 and relocated to Frankton. Dr Valerie Miller joined him in 2001 after being at Queenstown Medical Centre for 15 years. In 2012 Dr Mark Stillwell joined the Practice, then Dr Bart Vangronsvelt began in 2014. Dr Laura Brown then joined in January 2017.

Val Miller
(MB. ChB. Dip.Obs. FRNZCGP NZSIA)
Val is one of Queenstown's longest serving GPs having worked here since 1984 after qualifying from Auckland University. Val was initially involved in maternity services in Queenstown, and has since added general women's medicine, including the menopausal to her portfolio. Recently Val has added a postgraduate qualification in Travel Medicine. Val undertakes minor skin lesion removals under contract for Southern Health Board.

Mark Stillwell
(MBChB, DCH, DRCOG,
MSc (Dist) Sports and Exercise Medicine, FRNZCGP)
Mark qualified from Sheffield University in 1987 and has worked in General Practice near Sherwood Forest in the UK since 1990. He and his family moved to live in Paraparaumu New Zealand in 2007. He became a New Zealand Citizen in 2012. Whilst he specialised in sports medicine with a degree from Nottingham University in 1999, he enjoys all aspects of family medical care in general practice and has extra qualifications in child health, women's health and an interest in dermatology.

Bart Vangronsvelt
(MD)
Bart originates from Flanders in Belgium. After he first qualified as a nurse he worked with oncology and terminally ill patients. He then decided to become a phycician and in 2003 he graduated in Medicine from the Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands. He worked for 2 years in Internal Medicine with special interest in Hematology and Oncology. In 2009 he finished his further training for Family Medicine at the University of Maastricht.

Laura Brown

Originally from Southland, Laura graduated from the University of Otago in 2005. She spent time working at Auckland City Hospital and Christchurch Public Hospital, completing a postgraduate diploma in Child Health in 2013.

Katelyn Costello

Katelyn graduated from University of Otago in 2016. She has since worked in Christchurch hospital before recently moving to Queenstown in August 2018 with her husband.

Lizzie Borowy
Lizzie Borowy, originally from Southland, has joined WMC from Lakes District Hospital, after gaining experience in Australia and UK, primarily in A & E Care. Lizzie looks after our IV Aclasta programme, and is WMC's Diabetic nurse. Her special interest is Emergency care. |

Andie Lowry
Andie came to NZ in 2008 and is originally from Belfast, Ireland. She has a background in orthopaedic and Emergency Nursing, a post-grad in tropical nursing and a personal interest in sports medicine being a keen triathlete and adventure racer herself. |

Anne Hailes
Anne is a born and bred Southlander who has returned to New Zealand with her family after 18 years living internationally. Anne trained in Southland and completed a Dip Cert Cardiology, BScN & Post Grad in Health Management in Australia. Her areas of special interest include Cardiology, Travel Medicine and Primary Healthcare. Outside of work Anne loves to ski, bike and enjoy all the outdoor life that Queenstown has to offer. |

Anna Chisari
Anna came to NZ from across the ditch in 2011. She has a background in General and Emergency Nursing, having worked at Lake District Hospital. She now enjoys the continued variety of primary nursing. Anna is currently working towards a post graduate diploma in Health Science. On days off, Anna loves heading up the ski-fields, biking and exploring the surroundings. |

Caroline Coleman
Caroline, originally from Scotland, came to Queenstown in 2014. Caroline is settled now in Queenstown now with a young family. She has a background in Renal Nursing and Aged Care. She enjoys skiing and the outdoors. |

Fabi da Silva Correa
Fabi da Silva Correa comes from Brazil but has been living in Queenstown for over 8 years. She has a background in banking and hospitality. Fabi enjoys singing in her spare time and serving the community, and is an active member of the church. |

Tessa Martin
Tessa Martin has lived in the Wakatipu basin with her family for over 10 years. As well as enjoying working with the rest of the team, she has really loved getting to know the community since starting at WMC in March 2016. In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding and going for bike rides and has a keen interest in travel. |

Heidi Ross
Heidi comes from the state of Florida in the USA but has lived in Queenstown since 1995. She first visited Queenstown in 1972. She has worked in the medical field for over 35 years. She has a son Bob who now lives in Boston, Massachusetts, but graduated from Wakatipu High as well as University of Otago. Some of her favourite things to do are lap swimming, cooking, and long walks with her chocolate Labrador, Rufus. She enjoys meeting people and helping them however she can. |

Shiree Treanor
Shiree is a native New Zealander and has joined us from Lakes District Hospital. Shiree has previously worked with Southern DHB and Canterbury DHB, so has plenty of experience in NZ health system. |

Phil Markham
Phil Markham is our dedicated Practice Manager who comes from the North of England. He has over 20 years experience managing medical companies and joined WMC in 2008 after spending 5 years organizing and running junior Football in Queenstown. Phil is also a qualified Pharmacist and occasionally you see him working at the local Pharmacies. |

Donovan Percy
Donovan originally from South Africa, is a long standing resident of Queenstown. After completing his post graduate studies in Psychology, he changed direction and spent the rest of his career working in Senior Management for Corporate Business abroad and in New Zealand. He also has an overseas MBA from the University of KwaZulu Natal in South Africa and has a keen interest in Economics and Business Strategy. Donovan who loves music is also a first tenor, and a devoted family man. |
